Back in the Saddle

Um...hi there. 

So, in case you hadn't noticed, it's July now. (Last blog post: Christmas 2019.)

I worked so hard to keep up with blogging last year, and got everything caught up through the end of 2019. Ah...2019. Remember that year? Remember normal life? Yeah, I kinda do too, vaguely, like a happy dream from long ago.

 And now it's 2020. (Cue the Darth Vader music.)

In case you hadn't noticed, it's been quite the year so far and I'm sure I'm not the only one whose blogging hobby has taken rather a back seat. Plus, I was having a rocky year already. See, my dad died in January. It was so fast and intense and actually beautiful and so hard and sad too that I've been trying to capture it all. But I just have not been able to get that experience written down the way I want to. That plus everything else about 2020 has made the blogging come to a grinding halt. 

But here I am. I haven't given up. I have so many stories to jot down for our family's history, so I'm declaring here and now that I'm going to keep trying.
