Romney Turns 19, No Fanfare Allowed

Romney was extremely uninterested in celebrating her birthday this year. For some reason, she was just not that excited and wanted to do almost nothing. I think she was having very mixed feelings about returning to school and besides, school was starting on her birthday. Frankly, I believe she spent much of the day before her birthday in tears.

What else could I do but make her a cake and send her on a Target trip with her sister to buy legos? That's exactly what I did, and it perked her up a bit. We had a good laugh over her cake which kind of evolved into this hilarious dorky unicorn, which we made on her birthday eve.

She also picked out a lego set that was a model of a kingfisher, bird and it brought her smiles to watch a movie and build it. Legos can be magical that way.

And her happiest thing on her birthday was of course getting a visit with a big hug from Nicholas, and then going to watch shows with him and a few other friends. I'm telling you, it was extremely low key.

So with very little excitement, Romney is now 19.
