My sweet Emma had an adventurous spring.
After making it through High School Musical, it wasn't long before she was getting ready for a trip to California with the choirs and orchestra of East High School. I know I would have had fun if I had done this when I was in high school, but at this point, even thinking about it makes me tired. The kids left at like 5 in the morning on a Wednesday, drove all day long in a big giant bus, spent Thursday doing music, Friday doing Disneyland, Saturday doing the beach, and then driving home day Sunday. Of course they had an absolute blast.
Here's what Emma said were her favorite things about the trip:
1. Every time they went anywhere, transportation was a giant party because everyone was on two 50-person busses.
2. Having a sleepover with friends for five days.
3. Being able to sing together and learn how to be a better choir together.
4. Having free time and being able to mess around in a weird hotel.
5. Buying a tiara at Medieval Times
6. Sitting next to Bella at Medieval Times deciding which knight was the hottest. She votes for the green knight.
7. Showing the German exchange student Amelie parts of America like Disneyland and fry sauce.
Emma also secured her own date to prom. Now....if I had been on the ball and been keeping up with blogging like I was supposed to do, I would have had this happy post about Emma not only securing her own date to prom but secured her first smooch and first boyfriend. But....since I am so behind I now have to report on how she's also had her first break-up. And now I'm faced with a conundrum - do I post all the happy sweet photos of Emma on a date with her first boyfriend even though it has already come to an end? I guess I won't post all the details or too many photos - maybe just a few of her in her sweet prom dress, which she thrifted herself then decorated with pearls, and one of her with her date.
He's really a very sweet boy. They met because he was invited to be in the HSM cast so they did the show together. It was tricky because he lives far away in a totally different part of the valley than we do, and Emma was still working on getting her license, and he is very very busy with school and activities, so maybe it wasn't meant to last long. I'll write more about the breakup later because actually Romney was just the best big sister ever to her. For now I'll just post these cute pictures of my sweet gal.
