A Monumental Gathering

The stars must have all aligned or something last week  - seriously, any astrologer type friends out there - was there some sort of cosmic thing creating much energy in the field of reuniting?  I had 2 camp reunions last week (which I'll get to later), my child life reunion, plus my side of the family got together and actually took a photo with all 11 grandchildren in one place.  AND next week is my 20 year high school reunion.  What is going on?

I think our Romney family may have all been a little stressed out trying to get together but we pulled it off anyhow, meeting several times in several combinations of people, culminating with the 11-grandkids-in-one-photo highlight (even though one of themBITTYwas crying and mad through the whole thing.)  One brother was up here from St. George and didn't have his wife with him and had to work some while he was here.  The other brother was making a pit stop between his move away from L.A. and his move to Seattle - yeah, THAT'S not stressful.  My sister was teaching full time plus had a vacation in Snowbird planned - so we all crashed her party up there and had a great time.  Plus I had the week-o'-parties.  It was nuts!  But we managed to have fun anyway. I think.  I'll speak only for myself.

In usual ME style, I tried a little too hard to fit in too many things.  First I really pushed for everyone to make it up to Snowbird, though we were missing my mom and Sheri.  When you don't get up there until almost 7:00 and still have to eat dinner, it gets rather late before you actually hit the pool.  And by the time you get out of the pool, you have a gang of pretty tired people.  But I had made birthday cupcakes for Bundle's two younger cousins and so amidst a room bubbling in the chaos of 10 wet kids getting put into jammies by their wet parents I lit some candles, started singing Happy Birthday and pretty much forced everyone to eat a cupcake.  It was short, somewhat sweet, and I'm glad there was at least one picture of the birthday girls.  I was very proud of Bundle who seemed to know that her birthday had past and joined in the singing.  Rosey happily blew out her own candles and Cara's as well - she really knew what she was doing!

And here, two days later, is the grand moment of grandchild-glory:

DID I MENTION HOW MUCH I WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE?!?!? I yelped out loud at the picture of Leonard's beard! Seriously. I wish I could have been there for it all. However Girls Camp was way more than I ever thought it was going to be and I wouldn't have wanted to miss it either. Maybe I'm glad I didn't have notice of the Romney get together so then it wasn't really a choice.....

That last photo . . . there's something wrong with it . . .

All the kids are focused, and paying attention. It seems no one is moving around . . .

The picture must be Photoshopped! You did a great job with it. I almost believed it was real . . .
